Our mission

NeedCashBeforePayday.com exists to help people facing a short-term cash gap understand their options clearly before they borrow. For over 5 years, we've focused on two things: explaining how short-term, payday-style loans actually work in plain language, and connecting interested visitors with independent lenders who may be able to help — while always pointing to lower-cost alternatives first.

What we do

Educate

We publish plain-language guides on APR, finance charges, rollovers, and state-by-state lending rules so you can read any loan offer with confidence.

Connect

For visitors who decide a short-term loan is the right tool, we can pass along a request to independent, participating lenders and lending networks.

Redirect when appropriate

When a loan isn't the best fit, we point to free, non-profit resources — because our credibility matters more to us than a single referral.

Our editorial process

Every guide on this site is written by our in-house editorial team and checked for accuracy against primary sources, including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, state financial regulators, and lender disclosures. We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage of a specific lender, and we clearly disclose when a page contains a referral relationship. See our Advertiser Disclosure for details on how we're compensated.
