How It Works
From submitting a request to reviewing an offer — here's exactly what to expect, step by step.
Last updated: October 13, 2026
NeedCashBeforePayday.com is an informational website, not a lender. We help you understand short-term, payday-style loans and — if you decide to move forward — we can pass your request to independent third-party lenders and lending networks who may be able to make you an offer. Here is the full process.
-
1
Answer a short set of questions
The form on our homepage asks for basic details: the approximate amount you're looking for, your ZIP code, and a way to reach you. It typically takes under two minutes and is never a binding application.
-
2
Your request may be shared with lending partners
Depending on your state and the information you provide, your request can be shared with one or more independent, participating lenders or lending networks in our system. We do not guarantee a match, and coverage varies significantly by state.
-
3
You review an offer directly from the lender
If a lender is interested, you'll be presented with their specific terms — loan amount, APR, finance charge, repayment schedule, and due date — either on-screen or on the lender's own website. Read this carefully; it is the lender's offer, not ours.
-
4
You decide whether to accept
You are never required to accept an offer. Compare it against the alternatives on our Responsible Lending page, and only proceed if the repayment amount and due date realistically fit your next pay cycle.
-
5
Funds are sent by the lender, not by us
If you accept, the lender handles verification, final approval, and funding directly — commonly as soon as the next business day, though timing depends on your bank and the lender's own process. We never handle, hold, or disburse loan funds.
-
6
Repayment happens with the lender
You'll repay the lender directly, according to the schedule in your agreement. If you anticipate trouble repaying on time, contact the lender before the due date — many offer extensions or alternative arrangements, usually at an additional cost.
What happens if you're not matched with a lender?
Not every visitor is matched with a participating lender. This can happen if no lender in our network currently serves your state, if the requested amount falls outside a lender's criteria, or for other eligibility reasons that lenders do not always disclose to us. If this happens, we'll point you toward the non-profit and community resources listed on our Responsible Lending page.
What we are — and what we are not
| We are | We are not |
|---|---|
| An independent information and referral resource | A lender, bank, or credit union |
| A way to compare short-term loan concepts before you apply | A guarantee of approval or specific terms |
| A source of plain-language education about APR and fees | A broker who negotiates on your behalf |
| Free to use for every visitor | A party that ever holds or transfers your loan funds |
